| Description: | This study aimed to explore the role of Islamic banks in financing small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), through a case study of Al Salam Bank in Algeria, in light of the financing challenges faced by these institutions and the lack of effective alternative sources of funding. The study adopted a descriptive and analytical methodology, using a questionnaire as the main tool for data collection. Questionnaires were distributed to a random sample of 37 employees from Al Salam Bank. The data was analyzed using the SPSS VR 21 software during the period from April to May 8, 2025. The results revealed that the bank’s employees hold positive attitudes toward Islamic finance and are aware of the importance of Islamic financing methods in supporting SMEs. The findings also showed a high level of satisfaction with the bank’s use of partnership contracts, sales-based contracts, and modern financing instruments, reflecting the effectiveness of these tools in meeting the needs of the target sector. The study recommends the adoption of a comprehensive national policy to activate Islamic financing aimed at SMEs, by establishing a structured legal framework, offering incentives to financial institutions to develop innovative Islamic financial products, focusing on raising awareness among entrepreneurs about Islamic finance, and providing alternatives to traditional collateral-based mechanisms |
