| Résumé: | تعاقب على حكم الجزائر إبان الاحتلال الفرنسي العديد من الحكام العامون الفرنسيين الذين حكموا الجزائر لفترات من الزمن، نذكر من بينهم شارل (جونار) الذي رشح لأن يكون حاكما على الجزائر لأسباب عديدة من بينها أعماله مع لجنة حول فيري، و كذلك تقريره الذي قدمه سنة 1892م. حكم شارل (جونار) الجزائر من (1900م إلى 1919م) و التي كانت على عهدات ثلاث، حاول خلالها تطبيق سياسة أهلية لينة بدت في ظاهرها لصالح الأهالي إلاّ أنها تخفي في باطنها أهدافاً لتثبيت أقدام الاستعمار في الجزائر، و لتحقيق ذلك سعى جوار لإدخال إصلاحات شملت العديد من الميادين منها السياسية و الاجتماعية و الاقتصادية و الثقافية و الدينية، غير أن ردود الأفعال كانت متباينة حول سياسته بين مؤيد (الحكومة الفرنسية و المعمرين و البرلمان) و معارض (الأهالي الجزائريين، النخبة الجزائرية المثقفة). |
| Description: | During the French occupation of Algeria, many French Governors-General ruled Algeria for varying periods. Among them was Charles Jonnart, who was nominated to be Governor of Algeria for several reasons, including his work with a committee on Ferry, as well as his report presented in 1892. Charles Jonnart governed Algeria from 1900 to 1919, spanning three terms. During this time, he attempted to implement a policy of "soft indigenization" that appeared outwardly to benefit the natives. However, it concealed underlying goals to consolidate the foundations of colonialism in Algeria. To achieve this, Jonnart sought to introduce reforms in many fields, including political, social, economic, cultural, and religious aspects.
