Economic institutions of all kinds belonging to the private or public sectors aim to improve their economic performance with the aim of achieving profits and ensuring their continuity and competitiveness, which can only be achieved through the adoption and commitment from economic institutions to social responsibility. The social responsibility of economic institutions is a voluntary commitment to ethical and legal standards in terms of carrying out their activities and working responsibly towards their workers, their families, the local community and society as a whole. The environment is one of the constituent elements of social responsibility that institutions must take into consideration in their activities, which are part of the contribution to sustainable development, whether in a voluntary form or by adhering to legislation providing for the protection of the environment.en_US
